Anthony Andre has a Ph.D. in Engineering Psychology (AKA Human Factors) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Andre is a Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE).
In the early 90’s Dr. Andre was as the Principal Scientist and Primary Investigator in NASA's Flight Deck Management and Human Factors Division, and Head of the Display-Control Evaluation Laboratory. He researched issues related to situation awareness, workload, cockpit interface design and adaptive automation.
Sine 1993 Dr. Andre has headed Interface Analysis Associates, an award-winning human factors and ergonomics consultancy that specializes in patient safety research, drug delivery and medical device design, usability testing and human factors regulatory process consulting.
Dr. Andre is also an Adjunct Professor of Human Factors and Ergonomics at San Jose State University. He is a past President and Fellow of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, a Fellow of the International Ergonomics Association, Founding Chair of the International Symposium on Human Factors and Ergonomics in Healthcare and Editor in Chief of Human Factors in Healthcare.
Dr. Andre has received numerous awards/honors over the year, including awards for research, publishing (author), teaching, speaking, designing and professional outreach. He is the author of over 125 publications. His work is cited in several major textbooks, journals, and newspaper articles, and he has presented numerous invited addresses, workshops, panel presentations and technical lectures on various human factors and ergonomics topics.
